Transcripts, summaries and tasks
This is the part that does the remembering. A few minutes after you hang up the call is transcribed, summarised, and stripped of the things you said you would do.
Everything here lives in the AI tab. Pick a call and you get three sub-tabs across the top: Transcript, which is where you land, Summary, and AI Chat. This page covers the first two. The third has its own: AI Chat.
The summary
It arrives within a few minutes of hanging up, by email and in the app, so you usually have it before you have got back to your desk.
Open the AI tab and choose a call. The overview gives you:
- Call summary — what the conversation was about.
- Key takeaways — the points worth remembering.
- Action items — commitments made during the call.
- Topics — what came up, for scanning at a glance.
If a call was short or largely silent, a section may legitimately come back empty rather than invented — you will see, for example, "No action items detected".
The transcript
The full transcript sits alongside the summary, with speakers labelled so you can see who said what rather than reading one undifferentiated block. You can play the recording against it, and share a single line rather than the whole call when only one sentence matters.
Action items and the Tasks tab
Action items are the things you said you would send, book, confirm or chase. They are pulled out automatically and collected in the Tasks tab, where you tick them off as you go.
Tasks from a specific call are also shown on that call, so you can see a commitment in the context of the conversation that produced it.
Asking questions across your calls
The third sub-tab is AI Chat. Rather than finding a call and reading it, you ask a question and get an answer drawn from your calls — your whole history, one contact, or one conversation.
It is a big enough feature to have its own page: AI Chat.
It does not answer calls for you, and it is not going to. Epocra sits with you on your calls and does the remembering. It does not take them on your behalf or talk to your clients.
Contact summaries
Open a person in Contacts and, alongside their details and recent calls, Epocra can summarise the relationship across every conversation you have had with them, including how sentiment has trended over time. Useful before you call someone back after a gap.
Exporting and sharing
From a call in the AI tab you can Export or Share it — the summary, the transcript, or one selected line. Sharing sends it out through your device's normal share sheet, so it can go wherever you already send things.
A note on accuracy
We use the best transcription models available today, and they are good, but no transcription is perfect — accents, crosstalk and poor line quality all cost accuracy. The recording is always there behind the transcript, so anything that matters can be checked against what was actually said.
