Voicemail
Once your number forwards to Epocra, your carrier voicemail stops taking messages, because calls never reach it. Epocra answers instead — and transcribes what people say.
Reading your voicemail
Open the Voicemail tab. Each message shows who called and when, with the transcript underneath, so you can read the message rather than dial in to listen to it. You can play the audio, call back in one tap, or delete the message.
Your greeting
In Settings › Voicemail you choose what callers hear:
- Epocra default — the standard greeting. Fine if you would rather not hear your own voice.
- My own greeting — record your own from the app.
Custom greetings are saved to your account rather than to the handset, so re-installing the app or signing in on a second device does not lose them.
How long callers ring first
Settings › Rings before voicemail controls how long a caller rings your devices before voicemail picks up. Fewer rings means callers wait less; more rings gives you longer to reach the phone.
This is Epocra's ring count, not your carrier's. Because forwarding is unconditional, your carrier's own "rings before voicemail" setting is no longer involved.
Turning voicemail off
Settings › Voicemail enabled switches it off entirely. Callers who do not reach you then simply do not get the option to leave a message.
Being told about new messages
Under Settings › Notifications there are separate switches for new recordings and for voicemails, so you can be told about one and not the other. If notifications are not arriving at all, see Troubleshooting.
